I am happily married to the love of my life, Alex. We were married July 8, 2005. (6 days after turning 20, and he turned 22 in May) I prayed I would be pregnant while cleaning the toilets at Starbucks because I wasn't doing that well in school and just wanted to me a Momma... Well as you probably would have guessed, He heard my prayer. I found out I was pregnant on our 6 month anniversary. (on a Sunday- and second semester of my junior year was starting the next day...) I dropped out of College and worked at Starbucks until Hannah was born- September 7, 06. Our second, John was born 21 1/2 months later on June 20, of 08. And a Momma I am now!
We just moved to Murfreesboro, TN. Alex will be training at the Vanderbilt University-VA Consortium for 1 year, getting his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
We are hoping to make the move back to the Northwest in June, Alex is going to apply for a couple post-doc positions in the Portland area, but who knows what the Lord has in store for us. I mean, who would have thought we would be living In Murfreesboro of all places..?
This has been quite the adventure, the thunder and lightning here is really something to behold. We were here for...gosh.. maybe 2 weeks and there was the most amazing thunder and lightning storm. After Alex and I put the kiddos to bed we turned off all the lights and went upstairs and got on our knees with our noses to the screen, literally- and just watched this storm come in. Thunder you could feel in your chest and lightning that was flashing every 3 seconds. And not just tiny little lightning flashes, we are talking miles long, lighting up the WHOLE sky lighting. It really put us in awe of the Lords power to say the least.
I don't think I will ever get used to the humidity..as people here tell me I will...I do know we will miss the lighting bugs though. Funny little creatures they are. And the tornadoes! I don't like the tornadoes. 2 months before we arrived in the 'Boro there was a tornado that destroyed 60 homes and killed a mom and a baby just 10 miles away from our townhouse. Hopefully they stay away this year!
It's great you have started blogging Chelsie! It's fun to read about what the family are up to these days! Back home in Australia we have thunderstorms just like the one you described... I miss them!... although Seattle has has 3 this summer!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are all doing well. Emma Thompson xo

ReplyDeleteChelsie this is amazing! So fun seeing the pictures and videos. I don't feel like you are far away at all. I love getting to watch the kids grow. You are an amazing mother and I might add an amazing writer as well. Oh, and a blog site administrator! Love it AND I REALLY LOVE YOU! (Okay, that was three amazings in one paragraph).
ReplyDeleteSo I knew that Hannah and Garren were only a couple days apart but somehow I had no idea that Johnny and Ryker shared the same middle name. How cool is that! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! That's crazy! Leo is Alex's middle name too. Where did you guys get it? I wish we lived closer it would be fun to get the little gang together. :)
