Remembering the Alamo

The hubby and I got to take a quasi vacation to San Antonio in early March. It was fabulous and we really needed it. It was really nice to get in some quality one on one time together before Leah comes. My husband was attending a conference for work which meant that I had a few hours of the day to roam the streets of Texas....ALONE. Being kid-less was super weird, (a thankful shout out to my awesome In-laws who watched them for 3 days!!) but I enjoyed myself very much. I actually got to get dressed and do my hair and make-up, go to Starbucks whenever I wanted, go shopping, sit and read a book on the Riverwalk in the 80 degree sunshiny weather for however long I wanted, and people-watch. For those of you that know me, you know this is something I love to do. My favorite was all the older men with huge cowboy hats and belt buckles with way over-sized mustaches- they really do exist!

Here are a few (ok a ton) of my favorite pictures taken of the trip:

I haven't traveled that much, but San Antonio definitely takes the cake for the coolest city I have ever visited. The Riverwalk? Awesome. The Alamo? Historic. The food? Loooooovely. I hope my husband has to attend a conference here again sometime soon. :)

New lens and sweet faces galore.

Guess what I got for Christmas? :)
Nothing too fancy, but I am so, so in love.

Big Sis is -- for some reason -- so hard to photograph. She's usually doing some crazy funny pose or smiling silly when I get the camera out, which usually makes for not-so-good-pictures. So for me to actually capture her in her rare, super-real moment, was a such a treat. Oh how I love this girl.

Now Bub on the other hand is pretty easy to photograph. But, opposite of Big Sis, it's rare to catch his goofy faces on camera (especially if you factor in how often I am graced by his faces). I got this one the other night during bath time. This is his "mad face," usually accompanied by crossed arms (not pictured). Too bad its not as scary-serious as he thinks it is. :) Sweet kid this boy.

I Heart Faces

I Heart Faces is having a little photo contest this week for "best face photo of 2010". My heart kept coming back to this photo of my daughter to submit. This picture was taken when we lived in Tennessee last year, and we picked and wished on what seemed to be thousands of dandelions at the park. I finally got the shot I wanted. :)

More sweet faces here.

Wordless Thursday?

If you cant tell from all the picture posts, I have soooo many pictures from our time moving/transitioning/vacationing that I am basically trying to post pictures like crazy so I can feel caught up again. Please all excuse my "wordless whatever" posts for the time being. :) So here was my 'Wordless Wednesday' post, but I obviously missed the boat. No pun intended. Ok, maybe a tiny bit intended. The pun that is.

Here are a few more pictures from our time in Bayview. My grandparents have a sailboat. It's pretty awesome.

My grandpa was so kind and let my father-in-law be the captain for the day.
Arent my in-laws cute?
(Not brown nosing one bit, I really do think so!) :)
